Alright, I almost gave up on wikiHow, because it couldn't help me do one simple thing. Put in contact lenses. You would think of all things on wikiHow, they would probably have that. Now the nice thing about the website is if there isn't something on there then you can request it. However, I didn't have time to wait. I went to the eye doctor several weeks ago and got contacts. I'm supposed to wear a trial pair for a week, and then see if we needed to make any changes to the prescription. I put them in on the Friday I went to the doctor (which took a long time), and I
wasn't able to put them in again until 5 days later. I was getting so frustrated. My eye wouldn't stay open, and I was about ready to give up on the whole idea of getting contacts. Then I remembered something I had seen on my google homepage this week under "How to of the Week." wikiHow had an article on "How to Perform Self-Hypnosis."
I have been hypnotized before and I remember the guy saying that you could use the relaxation techniques to give yourself more confidence and to get yourself psyched up for a game. So I thought to myself, "Self, it couldn't hurt to try." So I went to the computer. I studied the techniques (I forgot to read the warnings though, but they didn't really apply to me so fortunately it wasn't a huge deal), and I mentally prepared myself to completely let my thoughts go.
The first step is to find a place that is quiet and where you will not be disturbed. That is almost impossible in my house, but I tried in my room. I had barely started climbing down the ladder in my mind when I heard my little brother screaming, "Hallelujah, they are off the race!" (He was watching Amazing Race and I guess the hippies were losing) Then I hear my mom yelling my name. I ignored her until my phone rang and I realized I wasn't going to get her to stop unless I talked to her.
After this small interruption I tried again. This time I made it all the way down to the bottom of the ladder and told myself, "I can keep my eyes open while putting my contacts in." I then brought myself out and went to the sink. The first time I tried after coming out of hypnosis the contact kept slipping off my finger, but I kept trying and it only took two tries to get in my eye! I was so excited. It worked! Now I have no problems getting contacts in my eyes. Thank you wikiHow, you never let me down!

I Don't Like Doughnuts and Burgers This Much

This is probably the worst thing I've ever seen. Click Here. I like doughnuts, and I like burgers, but not together. I've never heard of this before, until I got my sports marketing newsletter. Read down in the article, but the GM for the team that sells them has had 10 of these. That's 10,000 calories from the burgers alone. (I don't think it was all at once though) Makes you feel better about eating at fast food restaurants (sort of). If you can find other food combinations worse than this leave a comment for me with information on the food item.

My Weekend Trip to 67 years old

Wow...Best weekend EVER! I figured out what I want to be when I grow up...RETIRED!I spent this past weekend in Sun Lakes, Arizona, a retirement community. I went down with my boyfriend, Erik, to visit his parents (who live in the retirement community) and his brother and his family. I had the best time with them, and realized how fun it would be to be retired. Other than the being old part, it would be fantastic! You can sit around and play games all day, pick some fruit, head on over to the pool, then take a walk around the lake after dinner at 4. It's pretty much like being in a singles ward and no one has to go to school or have a job, and you don't have to worry about dating.
You get to listen to super relaxing music such as, Robert Goulet singing, "My Heart Will Go On" and not to mention a saxophone-heavy, instrumental version of Lionel Ritche's "Hello." Great stuff! I hope they still have stuff like that when I am old. I can see it. 50 years from now I'm going to be sitting somewhere putting a puzzle together while listening to the jazz band remix of "Hit Me Baby One More Time." What a great day that will be!
I will say as fun as retirement sounds, I guess you earn it after working for 40-50 years and raising however many kids. So I guess I will have to pay my dues, and make sure my 401K is in order. I wouldn't want to go to Arizona though, it's too hot. Maybe Del Boca
Vista would be a great spot, but at least Arizona is a dry heat.
I wish I had pictures from my trip. I have a few on my camera but they came up a little fuzzy. So as soon as I have a few from Erik's camera and his mom's camera I'll scan them and post them. I'm sure you're all looking forward to some great pictures.

wikiHow to do anything

I wanted to tell you all about the best website that I have ever seen. It's wikiHow.com. If any of you have a personalized Google homepage, this link is a must have. Everyday I pull up google and look to see what kind of new things I can learn how to do. I learned how to make a rice sock, how to make a bed NEATLY, how to quit caffeine, how to apply make-up (that was very useful), how to cope with sleep paralysis, and I learned how do something I've been trying to do for years!!! wikiHow.com presents...HOW TO MASTER DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION!!!! So much wasted time not using my heel, or mastering the tap step. I have stepped into a new stage of my life. The stage where I will be able to compete with the best of the best...The nerdiest of the nerdiest. I will be able to play BOOM BOOM Dollar on the highest level, and sing along. "Shutter like a Bumber," yes... "Shutter like a Bumber." You must be careful though there are several warnings involved in this wikiHow. BE SURE TO HEED THEIR COUNSEL.
Warnings
-Do not fall! As stupid as it sounds, I have seen people fall before because they couldn't balance on a machine. It is highly embarrassing. (I have had major issues with this one, I'm glad they cleared it up.)
-Make sure the socks you wear for the basic home-version pads won't cause you to slip. Sweat can also complicate the pad's surface. Always use common sense, and be careful not to disturb others around you!
-Just like swimming, don't play DDR for about an hour after you eat or drink, unless it's a light snack or hydrating liquid (see below).
There are many more exciting things to learn on wikiHow, and through this website I am doing all the things I want to do before I die. I will probably make this a weekly segment of things I learn, so now you have something to look forward to.
I need to go practice now.
